Anne R. Sladich, 87, of Greenwood passed from this life Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.
She was born July 2, 1925, in the Township of Eaton, to Frank and Mary (Remzgar) Gosar. She married Ignatius Sladich June 22, 1946, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, and they made their home in rural Greenwood. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1981.
Anne graduated from Greenwood High School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She was a schoolteacher in several country schools in the county and later taught in the Catholic schools at Loyal and Thorp. In later years, she was a substitute teacher for the public schools at Greenwood, Loyal and Owen.
Survivors include her children, Donna Hurt of Shreveport, LA, Mary Sladich of Neillsville, Michael of Greenwood, William (Barbara) of Greenwood, Jeanne (Duane) Strey of Granton, Jerome of Greenwood, Rita Sladich of Spencer and Anne (Jim) Bogdonovich of Willard. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Angie (Roman) Stroinski of Thorp, Cecilia Shaw of Marshfield and Julia Kuznacic of Sheboygan.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edward; three sisters, Mary Artac, Sophie Trunkel, Sr. M. Antonia (Frances), SSM; and two brothers, Frank Gosar in infancy, and Tony Gosar.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at St. Mary Help of Christians parish in Greenwood. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jeremiah Bogdonovich, Eli Bogdonovich, Jason Strey, Kevin Sladich, Ryan Sladich, Sam Rybski, Matt Sladich, Eric Sladich and Steven Sladich. Visitation was held at the church Monday, May 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary service and again at the church Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
