Eddy, Shirley Jean (Marriage - 20 September 1969)

Miss Shirley Jean Eddy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Eddy, Sr., of Rt. 3 Neillsville, became the bride of John Joseph Langreck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Langreck of Rt. 1 Neillsville, at a 2 p.m. ceremony Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church here. The Rev. George M. Nelson officiated at the double-ring ceremony before 200 guests.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of Chantilly lace. The long sleeved, fitted lace bodice featured a neckline embroidered with sequins and pearls. The A-line skirt was fashioned with a front panel of lace and a high rise waist-line banded in peau. Her chapel-length train was trimmed in lace. She carried a bouquet of scarlet red roses.

Debby Eddy was maid-of-honor, and Nancy Hovede was bridesmaid. Their gowns, one of maize and one of aqua, were of organza over taffeta and were fashioned with scoop necklines, short puffed sleeves and floor-length A-line skirts. Each carried a bouquet of scarlet roses and white mums.

Dennis Opelt was bestman and Gary Langreck was groomsman. Mike Eddy of Janesville and James Langreck served as ushers.

The children’s choir of St. Mary’s sang and Sister Leva provided organ music.

The bride is a 1969 Neillsville High School graduate and is employed at Christie. The groom, also a Neillsville High School graduate of 1969, is employed in Marshfield.

They will reside at 27 Grand Avenue, Neillsville.
