Holub, Mildred M. (11 December 1914 - 1 March 1991)

Mildred M. Holub, 76, of Alma Center, died on Friday, March 1, 1991 at the Family Heritage Nursing Home in Black River Falls.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1914 in Chicago to Peter and Marie (Zeithamer) Honzik. She married Joseph Holub in Neillsville on May 9, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1969. She lived in Alma Center for 32 years, previously living in Neillsville. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Holub of Salina, Kan., and Leonard (Judy) Holub of Janesville; seven daughters, Dolores (Bob) Offerdahl of Surprise, Ariz. Ellen (Laverne) Jahn of Alma Center, Shirley Aldrich of Madison, Ilene (Jerry) Harlicker of Montevideo, Minn., Loretta Holub serving with the Armed Forces in Saudi Arabia, Barbara (Larry) Jones of Madison and Kathy Holub of Middleton; one sister, Libby Matousek of Neillsville; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Peter, and a sister, Mae.

Funeral services for Mildred M. Holub were Monday at 11 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Alma Center. The Rev. Ethan Larson officiated and burial was at East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center. Friends called at the Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton on Sunday evening and at the church one hour prior to services.

Casketbearers were Bernard Jahn, Bryan Bradley, Jeff Holub, Ryan Harlicker, Wayne and Russ Aldrich.
