Married At Eau Claire
Miss Ruby Adams and Mr. James Harvey Plan to Surprise Their Friends. The Bride Receives Many Beautiful Gifts

Miss Ruby Adams of this village and Mr. James Harvey of Mondovi, were married at Eau Claire Tuesday morning September 11th.

It was supposed that the wedding would occur here Wednesday evening, but the young couple decided to surprise their friends and accompanied by Miss Carrie VanAuken of Chicago, they took the early morning train for the city. In spite of the secrecy preserved, a few had in some way become cognizant of the fact, and hastily donning kimonos and slippers, and seizing all the rice available, they hastened to the train determined that the time honored custom, which is supposed to bring good luck, should be observed. The ceremony was performed at nine o’clock a.m., Rev. Kershaw of Mondovi officiating.

The bride wore white net over white silk, her traveling gown being of reseda green cloth with jacket braided in white. On account of the serious illness of the groom’s father, the couple went at once to their home in Mondovi, which they had previously furnished and where a reception was given them Wednesday evening.

The bride, who is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Adams, and among Fairchild’s most popular young ladies, received many costly presents, among them being a beautiful piano from her parents. The groom is a thriving young farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Harvey, of Mondovi.

The Observer unites with the hosts of other friends in extending congratulations.
