Willard (27 November 1969)

The Merry Homemakers met last Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Arthur Hansen. The meeting was conducted by Mrs. Herbert Laib. She also gave the project lesson on meat. A special guest was Mrs. Frank Trybula. Nine members were present. A lunch was served by the hostess. The next meeting will be a Christmas party at the Robert Krainz home. Husbands will be guests.

The Willard Social Club held its meeting last Monday night at the home of Mrs. William Bayuk. The ladies packed fruit boxes for about 20 elderly citizens of the Willard area and those who are in hospitals and old folks homes. Mrs. Donald McFarlane presided at the meeting. A lunch was served by the hostess. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Edward Bayuk, where they will have a potluck lunch.

Guests one day last week of Mrs. Theresa Matkovich were Mrs. Anna Verschay and Mrs. Louis Zorman, of Greenwood, Mrs. Louise Bukovec, Mrs. Anna Volovsek and Mrs. Mary Gregorich. The ladies enjoyed a lunch and a social hour.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krapf, Jr., and family of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krapf, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ulesich spent Sunday in Menomonie at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. James Ulesich and children.

John Seliskar of San Antonio, Tex., attended the funeral of his brother, George, on Wednesday and visited relatives here.

Mrs. Miles Jurceka of Berwyn, Ill., was here to attend the funeral of her uncle last Wednesday.

John and Philip Halbrader of Rockford, Ill., and Edward Makilich of Waukesha spent several days with the Victor Halbrader family.

Frank Perme of Minneapolis spent the weekend in the Willard area.

James Acker of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the Ken Horn home.

John Verhunce was in Chicago, Ill., several days last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Plautz and son, Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Plautz of Greenwood, Paul Plautz and Philip Plautz of Milwaukee attended the funeral Saturday in Ellsworth of Mrs. Steve Plautz’ brother, Delmar Robey, 72, who died last Thursday.
