Busch, Alma L. (18 February 1893 - 17 February 1970)

Mrs. Alma L. Busch, 76, of Greenwood, died last week Tuesday in Neillsville, where she was admitted to the hospital on February 10.

The former Alma L. Goeke, daughter of August and Lena (Stockmeier) Goeke, was born February 18, 1893, at Newton, Manitowoc County. She came to Greenwood with her parents in 1910. She was married December 10, 1915, in Greenwood to Fred Busch. They farmed northeast of Greenwood until 1941, when they moved to the city of Greenwood. Mr. Busch died May 4, 1949. Mrs. Busch was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and the Zion Women’s Guild.

Surviving are a son, Delbert Busch of West Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Arles (Beatrice) Offord of Withee and Mrs. Edmund (Jeanette) O’Konski of Waukegan, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, William Goeke, and a sister, Mrs. William (Emma) Kuester, both of Greenwood.

Funeral services were held February 20 from the Zion United Church with the Rev. David Logue officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Earl Worden, Norman Behringer, Albert Pogodzinski, Elmer Windom, Clarence Markee and Gerald Steffen. Gary Schultz sang, “How Great Thou Art” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”, accompanied by Mrs. Walter Schwarze.

Relatives from away included Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Busch and daughters, Barbara and Bonnie, Mr. and Mrs. Lorris Dusso of West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Arles Offord and daughters, Kathy and Karen, of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Edmund O’Konski and family of Waukegan, Ill.; Mr and Mrs. Gerald Goeke and son, Gary of Pewaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Busch and daughter, Rebecca, of Appleton; Mrs. Henry Buss and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Awe of Owen; Mrs. Douglas Luther of Junction City; Mrs. Mark Wolk and daughter, Wendy, of Wausau; Mrs. Fred Canter of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stockmeier and Mrs. Albert Goeke of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Strade of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stock of St. Paul; Rudolph Stock, Arvin Stock and John marks of Colby; Jesse Offord and Mrs. Donald Pitts of Withee.
