Anderson, Wanda (04 July 1926-04 July 2013)

Wanda R. Anderson, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, July 8, at Community Alliance Church, Withee. Rev. Dylan Valliere officiated. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers were Jason Mitchell, Chet Boettcher, Dave Hansen, Matthew Anderson, Mark Goessl, Goeff Mueller and Sheldon Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Jalayne Goessl, Morgan Mueller Jennifer Boettcher, Stephanie Hansen, Rhonda Mitchell, Shana Anderson, Jackie Schuknecht, Janell Hughes and Amber Hughes.

Wanda Redd was born on July 4, 1926, in Pitcher, Kansasm, to Clyde and Clinton (nee Ortner) Redd. She was the oldest of three children. She attended grade school in Columbus, Kansas, and was a graduate of Joplin High School in Missouri. She made Army/Navy Uniforms during high school and after graduation, she moved to Witchita, Kansas, and worked for Boring Aircraft as a riveter. Wanda met Bernard Anderson in 1951 in Joplin, Mo., while he was still in the Army and married him on Oct. 13, 1952 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, after he returned from Germany. Together they bought a farm and moved to Owen in 1952 and raised seven children while farming.

Wanda enjoyed cross stitching, sewing and cooking. She was an active member of the Community Alliance Church, Withee.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Bernard Anderson, Withee; seven children, Darrell (Susan) Anderson, Ben (Sue) Anderson, Patricia (Patrick) Hughes, Gloria (Mitch) Mitchell, Roger (Karen) Anderson and Marv (friend Noreen Salzman) Anderson; grandchildren, Jason (Rhonda) Mitchell, Shana Anderson, Sheldon Anderson, Jalayne (Mark) Goessl, Jennifer (Chel) Boettcher, Stephanie (Dave) Hansen, Jackie (Fred) Schuknecht, Morgan (Goeff) Mueller, Janell Hughes and Amber Hughes; great-grandchildren, Havannah Gospodinoff, Ethan Anderson, Baby Hansen, Lauren Boettcher, Sylvia Boettcher, Emmalee Goessl, Molly Goessl, Madilyn Mueller, Clay Mueller. Mackinley Mueller and Jack Mitchell; step great-grandchildren, Heidi Haag, Mayna Muenchow and James Muenchow; and a brother, Gail (Sharon) Redd.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Chester Redd.
