------ Schauss, John C.  (3 JUN 1876 – 16 MAR 1965)

John C. Schauss, 88, route 3, Wausau, a retired blacksmith, died March 16 after a lingering illness.  Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church at Wausau and burial was made in the Dorchester cemetery.

Mr. Schauss was born June 3, 1876 in Mequon.  On June 15, 1902, he was married at Dorchester to Bertha Heuser.  Her death occurred March 8, 1910.  His second marriage took place July 2, 1910, to Mrs. Pauline Gernetzky, who died Feb. 4, 1933.

The former Mrs. Lena Thomas whom he married in 1940 survives him, as do two sons, two daughters, a step-son and step-daughter, nine grand children and 15 great grand children. 

He also has three sisters.

Mrs. Edna C. Waldhart, accompanied by her son, Wallace, attended the burial service at Dorchester.
