Pleasant Ridge (20 Jan 1916)

Henry Dettman of Adell came Thursday to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law, Wm. Gerhardt, and has spent the week with his sister, Mrs. Joe Counsell. He formerly attended school here and made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gerhardt.

Roy Steele of Tomah is spending this week with his uncle and aunt, Lon Huckstead and wife.

Miss Olga Christofferson of Columbia returned home Wednesday after spending a few days with Sadie Blackman. They spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Ed. Selves.

Miss Gertrude Howard returned Monday from a visit with her sister at Bruce.

Walter Carter is spending this winter with his brothers at Crandon. He has been gone since Thanksgiving.

Last Thursday was a bitter cold day, yet most of the Ridge people attended the funeral of Wm. Gerhardt in Neillsville.

Mrs. Sereno Wren of Dells Dam has been here the past two weeks caring for her daughter, Mrs. W. Wilson, who has been very sick. She is much better.

There was a young married people’s party at Bert Swan’s Saturday evening.

H.O. Huckstead and wife entertained friends Monday afternoon and evening in honor of Miss Ruth’s 5th birthday.

Mrs. Alvin Eisentraut will entertain the Larkin club at a feather bee Wednesday afternoon.
