Prosser, Lillian, M. (15 May 1924 - 2 August 2013)

Lillian M. Prosser, 89, of Spring Valley, formerly of Elmwood, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at the Spring Valley Health Care Center in Spring Valley.

Lillian was born May 15, 1924, in Wisconsin. She grew up in the Fond du Lac area and worked at St. Agnes Hospital as a nurse assistant. Lillian married Herbert W. Prosser Feb. 9, 1942, in Woodstock, IL. After marriage, Lillian raised her family of seven children and lived in various cities in Wisconsin. Herbert passed away in 1996. Lillian moved to Elmwood to be closer to her children. For the last two and a-half years, she had been a resident of the Spring Valley Health Center.

Lillian love to read, crochet, and do plastic canvas and puzzles. Most of all, she loved to spend time with family and friends.

Lillian is survived by her children, William “Bill” (Blanche) of Neillsville and Marilyn Prosser of Spring Valley; seven grandchildren, Troy, Todd, Will, Laura, Amy, Robert and Ed; two step-grandchildren, Nancy (Shannon) and Holly (Jesse); six great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Bill (Judith) Heckman of Merrill; one sister-in-law, Joanne (Ron) Fischer of Spring, TX; special friend, Luetta Schlosser of Spring Valley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Prosser; five children, Herbert Prosser, Jr., John Prosser, Doris Prosser, Darlene Prosser, Marlene Prosser; and special friend Leonard Schlosser.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood. Rev. Kevin Louis officiated. Burial will be made in the Fort Snelling National Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date. Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood and one hour prior to the services at the church Tuesday.
