Carol Drew and Lloyd Stewart left Sunday for the Methodist cam, Pink Lake, near Westfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Behrens left Sunday for Franklin Park, Ill. To visit relatives enroute to their home in California.

Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Meyer and children of Cameron spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Adolph Meyer, and other relatives.

Sgt. Dale Jolivette, who has been stationed at Pinecastle Air Force Base, Orland, Fla., received his honorable discharge from the Air Corps last week and arrived home Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Willer of Center Point, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neighbor, daughter Patty and sons Jon and Dick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, visited the Robert Stewart home the weekend of July 26th.

Saturday evening guests at the I.J. Koschak home were Mrs. Agnes Zimmerman and Art Lacey, Ely, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Francel, Willard, and George Vivoda.

Cpl. Wm. Stabnow, who spent the past year in Korea, arrived home on Friday, Jul y 25 and will spend his 30 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stabnow, and with his wife, Beverly (Ampe) Stabnow, at Madison.

A.W. Stone of Stanley spent his 89th birthday at the Otis Stowe home near Abbotsford, a week ago Sunday. He at one time lived where O. Radley now lives.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lawein and son Merrill of McIntosh, S.D., arrived last Wednesday for a visit with her mother, Mrs. C.M. Noetzel. Walter returned home on Thursday, but Mrs. Lawein and son remained for a longer visit here.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Karlen and baby of Boyd visited relatives here Sunday.

Mrs. Selma Gustafson of Chicago is spending a week with Mrs. P.M. Johnson and Mrs. Josie Hubble.

Mrs. Leonard Thiede and son Jimmy of Arcadia visited Thursday and Friday at the Walter Swieso home.

The annual chicken dinner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be held on Sunday, Sept. 7th. Keep that date open.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kretlow and daughter Gloria of Milwaukee left Sunday after visiting the last week at the Viv Carteron home and with other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hubert spent the weekend with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Zupke, at Arpin.

Mr. and Mrs. John Goger and daughters Shirley and Sharon left Monday for their home in Chicago, after spending the past two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Toburen and other relatives.

Dr. and Mrs. Geo. Haueser of St. Paul and Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanson of Minneapolis were overnight guests Saturday of Mrs. E.T. Burch.

Duane Stewart, A-3-C, who spent a 16 day furlough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart, left Monday for brooks Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart, Mary Lou and Helen, visited the Glen Stewart home in Marshfield on Tuesday of last week.

Miss Eleanor Krieg, Marshfield, spent the weekend at the Merrill Hare home.

Jean Ann and Carol Redgren of Menomonie are visiting their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Behrens and other relatives.

Several drum and bugle corps have been invited to participate in the annual parade of drums at 1 pm. On the opening day of the Wisconsin State Fair at Milwaukee, Saturday, Aug. 16.

Mr. and Mrs. John Goger and daughters, Chicago, spent Tuesday and Wednesday of last week at the Gus Toburen cottage on Miller’s Lake near Minocqua.

Mr. and Mrs. John Goger and daughters, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Toburen visited Mrs. Delmar Toburen, who is a patient at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Schreiber of Oshkosh and son Cpl. Robert Schreiber, who recently returned from Korea, visited their aunt, Mrs. John Hawley, on Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Lemke, Loyal, Mrs. Chal Perkins, Mrs. Marge Colby and Miss Evangeline Sheets visited Sunday at Eau Claire with Mrs. E.W. Erwin and Mrs. Delmar Toburen at the Luther Hospital, and with M. Corey at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Cox Jr., daughters Donna and Pat, and Mrs. Don Cox Sr., left last Tuesday for Chicago after visiting at the home of Miss Martha Horn. Mr and Mrs. Don Cox Jr. spent part of the week at Hayward fishing, returning on Saturday. On Monday the Cox’s, accompanied by Miss Martha Horn and Wm. Horn, visited at the Franklin Kraut home at Curtiss.

Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Corey visited his father, O.A. Corey at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Sunday

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jolivette and Elaine visited at Necedah and other points on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Steiger spent the weekend with their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Elmer Steiger and family at Plum City.

Carole Dillenbeck and Bruce Busch spent a few days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Einfeldt.

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hium and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Nirva and daughter returned from a trip to California and other western states.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kretlow and daughter Gloria visited Friday at the Guy Richmond home.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso visited Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Warner at Stanley.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Benson and children of Watertown spent from Friday until Wednesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sloniker.

Jimmy Brey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wally Brey of Neillsville, is a patient at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, ill with Spinal Meningitis. We are glad to report he is gaining. Mrs. Brey will be remembered here as Peggy Kitzhaber.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Luther and two daughters of Eau Claire spent from Thursday until Sunday with her mother, Mrs. P.M. Johnson and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neuenfeldt, Jayne and Dennis, spent from Wednesday until Sunday at Bear Lake. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Haunschild, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Larson, Sharon and Don, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner for the weekend. They all report that Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Flatz, formerly of Greenwood have a beautiful resort with the very latest in modern cabins. The Flatz’a extend a hello to all their Greenwood friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ellingson and son David of Mauston spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Ellingson.

Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Syth, Mrs. Earl Caliebe and family spent Sunday at Jim Falls.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Kale and sons John and Carl spent the past week in the Caliebe cabin at Rock Dam.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Caliebe, Alvin Butterbrodt spent Sunday at the Butterbrodt cabin at Spirit Lake.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ramin and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Vollrath returned Monday from a trip into Canada.

Harry Wallis called at the Harold Stowe home near Abbotsford one day last week. While there he met Rev. Babler, who also went into World War II service along with Stowe and Walis, but at that time not knowing one another.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson and family moved to their new home at Elkhorn on Tuesday. Ob has accepted a position with the Thornton Finance Co. at Elkhorn.

Mr. and Mrs. George Poppe and Art Horn left Saturday for Des Moines, Iowa. From there they will accompany the former’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elery G. Poppe, on a trip to the west coast.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Peterson of Pontiac, Mich.; Mrs. Selma Gustafson, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Luther and daughters, Eau Claire; Mrs. Annie Dyre and Mrs. Joie Hubble spent Sunday evening at the home of Mrs. P.M. Johnson.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Venzula and family, who have been visiting her mother, Mrs. Mary Snedic, Willard, and her brother John Snedic and other relatives, left Sunday for San Diego, Calif., from where they will leave for Guam. Mr. Venzula, who is with the Navy, will be stationed in Guam for the next four years. He recently returned from Korea.
