Noah, Louise (4 JUN 1865 - 15 OCT 1952)

Mrs. Adolph Noah, nee Louise Hoehle, daughter of Johannes and Elisabeth Hoehle, was born in Bohne, Furstentuen Waldek, Germany, on June 4, 1865.

She came to the United States in 1886 and settled in Plymouth, where she worked in the Mission House for a short time. A few years later she came to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

On Sept. 25, 1890 she was united in marriage to Adolph Noah at the West Side Immanuel and Reformed Church. The Rev. John Shamis officiated. She resided on the Noah farm seven miles northwest of here since her marriage. Mr. Noah passed away in 1935.

Mrs. Noah passed away at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1952. Death was attributed to a heart attack, although she had been confined to her bed for the past three years.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the home and at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Reformed Church, Greenwood. She was laid to rest in the family lot in the West Side Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Koch officiated.

During the service the Senior Choir sang "Ish Mich Gehen" and "All is Well with My Soul," accompanied by Mrs. Alvin Albert on the organ.

The pallbearers were six grandsons, Clarence Hollmann, Adolph Wendt, Elmer Schwarze, Orlin Noah, Norman Noah and Raymond Peters.

Mrs. Noah is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William (Selma) Hollmann, Grafton; Mrs. Arthur (Alvina) Peters, Milwaukee; Mrs. Arthur (Bertha) Schwarze, Greenwood; three sons, Oscar, Alma; Emil, Greenwood, and Albert, Sidney, Montana; two step-children, Alvin Noah, Iowa, and Mrs. John (Clara) Wendt, Owen; 38 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Mrs. Emma Kraut, died in Austria in 1940. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Hollmann, Grafton, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peters Sr. and son, Arthur Jr., Raymond and Gilmore, Miss Evelyn Noah, Mrs. Lyle Marion, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hollmann and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Hollmann and Cheryl, all of Milwaukee; Oscar Noah and son Orlan, Alma, Wis.; Elmer Schwarze and son Terry, Minneapolis; Frederick A. Noah, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Emma Bramstedt and son Raymond and Miss Irma Dohmeier, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Braatz and daughter Ruth of Thorp; Wilton Karlen, Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Art Severson and Mrs. Francis Conrad of Owen.
