Maser, Mr. and Mrs. Christ (Golden - 5 November 1971)

A Neillsville couple observed their Golden wedding anniversary earlier this month in an unusual double celebration together with the parents of their son-in-law.

Mr. and Mrs. Christ Maser of 121 Grand Ave., Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. John Lohmeier, Lakeside, Ca., marked the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance November 5 at the Camelot Room of the Regency Inn, Chicago, Il. Both couples are former residents of Chicago. Their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lohmeier, live there at the present time.

Members of the Maser family present at the gathering , in addition to their daughter Irene, her husband Walter, and son Kenneth, were their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ray Maser and her two children, Karen and Ronald. The Christ Masers’ son, Ray, is deceased.

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schulist of Neillsville accompanied the Masers to Chicago for the event. Friends and neighbors joined them at their home for a second observance held November 19.

Mr. and Mrs. Maser were married November 5, 1921, in Glencoe, Mn., and lived in St. Paul for several years after their marriage. They spent about 29 years in Chicago, where Mr. Maser was employed by a manufacturing company. He retired in 1954 and the couple came to Clark County to live, residing first on a farm northwest of Christie. They moved to Neillsville in 1967 and are members of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
