Clark County Historical Society (Annual Meeting - December 1971)

The annual meeting of the Clark County Historical Society was held in Greenwood last Thursday evening.

The Colby depot project is continuing at an encouraging pace with a donation from the Wuethrich Foundation and generous pledges from the Coby Chamber of Commerce and the Colby Lions Club, it was reported. Arvid Carlson gave a report of the committee seeking information of loans for the Colby depot project.

The possibility of an antique show in Neillsville in February was discussed. There was a brief discussion on the log house to be moved to the Clark County fairgrounds.

Vern Hansen, Everett Kauffman and Vahla Pierce were appointed to audit the books during the winter recess.

During the election of officers, Miss Florence Garbush was returned to the post of president; Mrs. Pearl Vorland, first vice-president; Mrs. Tom Yndogliato, secretary; and Miss Ruby Meihack, treasurer. Mrs. Marie Vajgrt was elected second vice-president. Everett Kauffman was elected for two years to fill a vacancy on the board of directors. Those elected for three year terms were: Vern Hansen, Mrs. Jennie Tufts, Arvid Carlson and William Tragsdorf.

Potluck holiday goodies were served for lunch, with Mrs. Effie Swieso in charge of the coffee. The next meeting will be held March 2, in the Clark Electric Auditorium in Greenwood. There will be no meeting during January and February.
