Huntzicker, Clara #2 (03 JUL 1876 - 06 FEB 1946)

Miss Clara Huntzicker was born July 3, 1876. She passed away at her home on February 6, 1946 at four o’clock a.m., at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 3 days.

She was born on the home farm in the town of Eaton, two miles south of Greenwood, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huntzicker. She had five brothers: John, Elmer, William, Albion and Robert. In her girlhood she and a friend attended college at Dixon, Illinois where she studied music. After the death of her parents, she and her brothers, William and Robert, continued to live on the farm. About twenty three years ago, they moved to the city of Greenwood, where she lived since. Four brothers, Elmer, John, Robert and William, preceded her in death.

She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Ladies Aid of the Grace Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Woman’s Club of Greenwood, the Pioneer Sewing Circle and the Cemetery Association. Miss Huntzicker was also one of the group of friends who met with Mrs. N.J. Carter each Saturday afternoon.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albion Huntzicker of Ivanhoe, Minnesota, and another sister-in-law, Mrs. John Huntzicker of Boulder, Colorado. There are four nieces and three nephews, Paul the oldest son of John Huntzicker having passed away last February.

She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday, February 10 with Rev. A.J. Abbott of the Methodist Church officiating. During the service Mrs. George Haeuser, Mrs. Harold Stabnow and Mrs. Louis Behrens sang “Lead Kindly Light” “In The Garden” and “Abide With Me” with Mrs. John Meng accompanying on the piano.
