Decker, Ferdinand #2 (18 MAR 1874 - 30 SEP 1950)

Ferdinand Decker, son of Fred Decker and his wife Marie nee Meier, was born March 18, 1874 on the Decker farm, where he resided throughout his life time.

He was baptized on June 18, 1874 by Rev. Schoepfle and confirmed by Rev. Schmalz on April 19, 1889.

On June 25, 1903 Ferdinand Decker was united in marriage to Meta Humke. Two children were born to this union, Walter of Chicago and Lillian, Mrs. Arno Miller, Greenwood.

Throughout the years, Ferdinand Decker was a lifelong and faithful member of the congregation, at ending its services and serving the church as a member of its consistory and loyally supported its Christian enterprises.

A little more than a week ago the deceased suffered a severe, almost a complete stroke of apoplexy, from which he never rallied. Death came to him quietly with a minimum of suffering at noon September 30, 1950 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, having attained the age of 76 years, 6 months and 11 days.
