Young, JoAnn Ruth (12 Aug 1967)

St, Anthony’s Catholic Church of Loyal, was a scene of the wedding of Miss JoAnn Ruth Young and Mr. Lawrence George Weyer, both of Loyal. The Very Rev N. E. King officiated at the 12 o’clock noonceremony on August 12. The children’s choir sang for the occasion and Mike Tucker, played.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young, route 1, Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weyer route 2, Loyal.

The bride given in marriage by her father was seen in a floor-length gown of silk organza over taffeta, the skirt falling into a chapel sweep. Her bouffant veil was secured to a crown of lace, pearls and aurora borealis crystals, and she carried a fan-shaped bouquet of pink roses and white carnations.

Mrs. Art Lindner, Loyal, was the matron of honor and Miss Ellen Haslow and Miss Mary Ellen Weyer, Loyal, were the bridesmaids.

The aides wore pink floor-length sheath formals of chiffon over taffeta with satin accenting the waistlines and panels completing the backs. Their matching circular headpieces of rippled nylon trimmed with pearls and crystals and pouf veils. Each carried a basket of pink and white carnations.

Art Lindner, Loyal, was the best man. Alan Tessmer, Spencer, and Robert Young, Loyal, were the groomsmen. John Weyer, Greenwood, and James Young, Loyal, were the ushers.

A wedding reception ws held at the bride’s parental home. A 4:30 p.m. supper was served at St. Anthony’s hall and the dance took place at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

The new Mrs. Weyer graduated in 1964 from Loyal High School and her husband from the same school in 1962. The bride has been employed at Karau’s Super Market, Marshfield and her husband farms on route 2, Loyal, where the couple will reside after a wedding trip to undisclosed location.
