Borgen, Evelyn A. (Pecher) (2 OCT 1928 - 19 MAR 2014)

Evelyn A. Borgen, age 85, formerly of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.

A Mass of Celebration will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan. Father Paul Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery in Milan. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 AM until time of service Saturday at the church.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.

Evelyn was born on October 2, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Fastner) Pecher in Athens. She left the area at an early age and settled in the Milwaukee area. Evelyn was a caretaker to children of a prominent dentist in Milwaukee. In July of 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Borgen in Athens.

Evelyn was a devoted mother and grandmother and helped raise her grandchildren, Jennifer and Zachary. She enjoyed rummaging, watching classic westerns, took in stray pets and gave them a loving home.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Victorine Fritsche of Eagle; her grandchildren: Jennifer Trotnow of West Allis and Zachary Dahms of Eagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert on June 10, 2009; her brother, Clarence Pecher and her sister, Delores Pecher.
