Vinger, Vivian (03 DEC 1942)

Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger wish to announce the marriage of their daughter Vivian to First Sgt. Wm. C. Kavanaugh of East Chicago, Indiana and Camp Grant, Illinois, which took place on the morning of December 3, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The bride was attired in a gold afternoon dress accented with brown accessories and complimented with a brown and gold hat to match.

Miss Lois Olson of Chicago went with the bride to serve as her only attendant.  She chose a medium blue afternoon dress with matching hat and brown accessories.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Kavanaugh, 4507 Magana Ave, East Chicago, Ind., is a graduate of Oglethorpe University, Atlanta, Georgia and for the past 21 months has been stationed at Camp Grant, Ill.

The bride is a graduate of the local high school, class of 1937.  She attended the University of Wisconsin for one year but gave up her college education to pursue a course in nursing at the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital, Chicago.  After graduating in 1941 she has been engaged in private duty nursing in Chicago.

The young couple arrived here on Friday for a visit with the bride’s parents and will be at home to their friends in Rockford, Ill., after January first.

The Gleaner joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many years of happy married life.
