Ethel Kroll, age 84, of Neillsville, WI died Friday, April 4, 2014 in the Emergency Room of the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Ethel Marie Poppe was born on May 28, 1929 in the Town of Seif, Clark County, Wisconsin the daughter of John and Elsie (Hemp) Poppe. She grew up in Neillsville, was united in marriage to Wilmer Kroll on September 22, 1951. They lived in Wausau for 25 years and retired back to Neillsville in 1989.

Ethel was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.

She is survived by a brother, Norman (Ardith) Poppe of Neillsville, a brother-in-law, Merlin (Jean) Kroll of Neillsville and a sister, Eileen (Arnold) Buchholz of Neillsville along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral Services for Ethel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate. Music will be provided by Sharon Nemitz, organist and St. John's Children's Choir. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
