Kokaly, Josephine (21 February 1880 - 24 January 1972)

Mrs. Josephine Kokaly, age 92, of Greenwood, died last Friday in Neillsville, where she had resided at Memorial Home the last two years.

Josephine Smolich was born February 21, 1880, in Yugoslavia. She was married February 25, 1900, in Germany to Martin Kokaly. They came to the United States in 1905 and settled at Sunnyside, Ut. In 1914 they moved to Willard, where the operated a farm until 1950, when they moved into Greenwood. After the death of her husband on November 20, 1952, Mrs. Kokaly made her home with her children until she went to Memorial Home in Neillsville.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Arlist (Emilie) Ross of Hazel Park, Mich., Mrs. Joseph (Edna) Pufka of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Avis Hartman of Oak Lawn, Ill.; three sons, Martin of Willard, Reinholdt of Wheaton, Ill., and Edward of Marshfield; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, at 11 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Leander Koopman officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
