Harry Mervin Lapp, 54, of Abbotsford was dead on arrival at St. Mary’s hospital, Wausau, Tuesday, April 5, at 8 a.m.  Mr. Lapp was employed at the Employers Mutuals complex under construction at Wausau and was preparing to start with the 8 o’clock shift when he was stricken and taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Friends may call at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, after 4 o’clock Thursday.  Funeral services will be conducted there on Friday afternoon at 3:15 with the Rev. F.H. Sprengler of Christ Lutheran church officiating.  Interment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Mr. Lapp was born April 18, 1911, in the town of Hoard and received his education in Abbotsford schools.  On Jan 17, 1934, he and Miss Helen Frahman were married at Medford.

They farmed near Greenwood for a time and 18 years ago came to Abbotsford.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Wausau Local No. 1359.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Phyllis) Shields of Chicago, the twins, Patsy and Nancy of River Grove, Ill., and two sons, Donovan and Richie, at home.  There are three grand children.

His mother, Mrs. Tillie Lapp, a resident of the Marshfield Convalescent Home, and one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Norma) Wardell of Portage, Ind., also survive him.

His father preceded him in death.
