------ Meacham, Sharwin Etta (18 JUN 1966)

Miss Sharwin Etta Meacham, Colby, became the bride of Robert Paul Gosse, Waukesha, in nuptial rites held Saturday, June 18, at the Colby Methodist church.  Officiating were the Rev. R. James Hagen, pastor of the Colby church, and the Rev. Lee Holmes of Viroqua Methodist church.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Meacham of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gosse of route 2, Curtiss.

Music during the service was provided by Kenneth Schultz who sang “O, Perfect Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer”, accompanied by Miss Mary Vorland at the organ.  The chapel was decorated with vases and baskets of pink and white carnations and gladiolus, and was lighted by candlelight.

For her wedding, the bride chose a full four-tiered American white lace gown with a square neckline and empire waist.  The bodice and full-length pointed sleeves were adorned with pearls and sequins, as was the detachable circular lace trim, which was secured at the waist with a white rose.  Her shoulder-length, two-tiered veil was fastened to a pearl petaled headpiece.  She carried a white Bible with yellow roses and white stephanotis.

Attending the bride were Miss Christine Blair, route 1, Abbotsford, and Miss Carol Blair, Colby.  The groom’s attendants were Ken Ewert, Wausau, and Charles Krueger, Colby.

The ceremony was followed by a reception in the church parlors which was attended by about 125 guests.  Guests came from Sheboygan, Tigerton, Wausau, Sparta, Colfax, Dorchester, Loyal, Marshfield, Curtiss, River Falls, Spencer, Unity, Abbotsford, Viroqua, Medford, and Milwaukee.

The new Mrs. Gosse is a student at Wisconsin state university, Eau Claire, and her husband is employed as a mechanic at Waukesha.  Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will be making their home at 525 Dunbar St., Waukesha.
