Thompson, Mary Ann (4 FEB 1877 – 15 MAR 1966)

Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson, 89, died at her home at Martin Lake, near Olney, Montana, Tuesday, March 15, 1966.

Mary Ann Thompson was born Feb. 4, 1977 at Colby (Clark Co.), Wis., the daughter of Peter and Mary Geist. When a young girl she moved to Boyd, Wis., where she was married to Joseph Brunner in 1989. Mr. Brunner died in 1912.

Her parents operated a slaughter house in Boyd, and when a young girl, she and her brother delivered meat to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

She married James Thompson in 1915 in Boyd, Wis., where they continued to live until coming to Olney in 1937, where she has since resided.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, on March 8, 1956. She was also preceded in a daughter, Mary Bourget in 1934, and one son, JosephBrunner in 1963.

She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church and a life member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.

She is survived by one son, Paul Brunner, Olney, Mont.; eight daughters, Mrs. Louis Erickson, Olney, Mrs. John Niesius, Thorp, Wis.; Mrs. Leo Kane, Cadott, Wis.; Mrs. Hiram Nelson and Mrs. Ted Finlay, borth of Missoula; Mrs. Ted Larson, Helena, Mont.; Mrs. Clarence Olson, Owen, Wis.; and Mrs. Melvin Johnson, Chippewa Falls, Wis.; 73 grandchildren; 149 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters.

Requiem High Mass was celebrated from the St. Charles Catholic Church, Whitefish, Mont., Saturday morning, March 19, at 9:30 a.m., with Rev. Father William Molloy as celebrant.

Interment was made in the Whitefish Cemetery.
