Wegner, Hulda (19 May 1893 - 4 October 1972)

Funeral services for Mrs. Hulda Wegner, 79, of Neillsville, a native of the Town of Pine Valley, were held Saturday, October 7, at 1:30 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wegner, who died October 4, was the daughter of Fred and Wilhelmina (Nemitz) Dux. She was born May 19, 1893, in the Town of Pine Valley and was educated in Pine Valley public and parochial schools. Her marriage to Albert J. Wegner took place May 7, 1919, in Neillsville. The couple farmed in Pine Valley. After his death in 1951, Mrs. Wegner continued to farm for several years before retiring and moving to Neillsville six years ago. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Margaret May, and a brother, Otto Dux, both of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: Fritz Zank, Carl Wegner, Darrel Raine, Marvin Dux, Roland May and Jack Miller. “I’m But A Stranger Here” and “Asleep In Jesus” were sung by Mrs. Harold Mayer. Victor Lehmann was the organist.

Those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Dux and family and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lazotte, Jr., and family of Stoughton, Fritz Zank of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. William Halverson of Glidden, Jack Miller of Butternut, Mrs. Larry Ahrenkiel of Hayward, Lester May, John Rowers, Mr. and Mrs. Roland May, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice May and Bradley May of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bartz of Janesville, Mr. and Mrs. George Volz of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carl of Nekoosa, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Meihack and Vern Meihack of Marshfield, Mrs. Gordon Thur of Fairchild and Mrs. Marvin Ziegler of Willard.
