Our teacher extended these greeting to us and we are wishing the same to you.
"May the New Year bring success to every one of you,
On every day as it goes past,
And every day be better, happier and merrier –
Than the last."
We all made some resolutions and we're all trying to live up to them. Some are
doing well – others have broken some already.
Quite a number of children were quite sick last week and were absent several
days.
Miss Frieda Krultz was our visitor one day last week.
The 7th and 8th graders have completed learning the poem, "Finding of the Lyre,"
and also studied the picture "Joan of Arc." They also drew a nice show of Joan's
life.
The 5th and 6th graders studied the story "Merchant of Venice," and they too
made a show of it. We can't say which show is the best, but both are fine.
Don't call us braggarts but we can truthfully say that we have the dandiest
sliding place in Clark County. Do our sleds ever go and can our skis fly.
The 8th grade boys have finally taken an interest in history and surprised the
girls and teacher by presenting lovely notebooks to the class.
Drawing class drew some nice winter scenes for Miss Perushek, and the little
ones cut out some posters. Helen and Lucy made a nice Eskimo poster.
Our second graders are doing very fine in arithmetic and take great interest in
it.
Miss Perushek made a few rules about tardiness. Anyone who comes into the
schoolroom five minutes after the bell rings will be tardy, and now the boys
certainly scramble for their seats.
