Gustavson, Richard Johann (27 June 1959 - 3 August 2014)

Richard Gustavson, 55, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at his home. Richard Johann Gustavson was born June 27, 1959, in Elmhorst, IL, the son of Richard and Luzia Gustavson. He graduated from Northcentral Technical Institute in Wausau in 1983 with an associate’s degree in machine tool. Rick worked as a metal fabricator for Stichert Roofing in Chili for 25 years.

Rick was previously active in the community as a Boy Scout leader and in Martial Arts. He delivered the Bloodmobile posters to Chili and previously in Neillsville. He enjoyed gunsmithing, working on computers and working on cars.

He is survived by his son, Chester (Kathryn) ‘Slick’ Gustavson of Altoona; his parents, Richard and Luzia Gustavson of Neillsville; two brothers, Bill Gustavson of Marshfield and Charles Gustavson of Glencoe, MN; two sisters, Carol Gustavson of Grove City, MN, and Ann (David Gearen) McCarthy of Black River Falls.

Rick was preceded in death by an infant brother.

A memorial service for Rick will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the AKF Martial Arts Academy, 521 Hewett St. Neillsville. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Martial Arts Academy.
