Marten, Judy (1 Oct. 1966)

Marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Judy Marten and Michael Salter Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Marten of route 1, Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Salter of route 1, Unity.

The Rev. M. L. Yonker performed the 3 o’clock ceremony during which Mrs. Henry Kuesel was organist and Mrs. Donald Hanson, soloist.

The bride appeared in a floor length gown of spun angel mist and chanti-lace.  The basque bodice had a Sabrina neckline and long sleeves. A large split watteau train edged in lace was attached with bows at the shoulder line and the full skirt was edged in lace which came to a point in the front.  Crystals and seed pearls formed the crown for her bouffant veil.  She carried a bouquet of red roses surrounded by white pompons.

Miss Norene Seefeld of Spencer served as maid of honor for her cousin.  Mrs. Dean Hanson of rural Spencer, another cousin, and Miss Kristine Sheenfeldt of Mt. Prospect, Ill., a cousin of the groom, were the bridesmaids.

Jerry Salter of Unity was the best man for his brother and Dean Hanson of Spencer and John Bruecker were groomsmen.

The bridal attendants were attired in floor length empire gowns of turquoise with matching blusher veils.  Velveteen was used in the bodices and crepe in the A-line skirts.  They carried one large bronze chrysanthemum surrounded by white pompons, tied with bronze ribbons.

Festivities of the wedding day included a supper in the church basement, reception at Memorial Hall, Unity, from 7 to 9, followed by a wedding dance.

The couple left on a honeymoon trip to the Wisconsin Dells and La Crosse and are now at home at 2411 Gowan St., Wausau.

The bride is a 1966 graduate of the Colby high school.  Her husband, a 1963 graduate of the same school, was graduated from the Wausau Technical Institute in 1966, in electtonics.  He is now taking a course in data processing at the institute and is employed at Savino’s Service Station.

Guest at the wedding came from Mount Prospect, Ill., Chappell, Neb., Loyal, Colby, Dorchester, Milwaukee, Madison, Janesville, Kenosha, St. Francis, Chippewa Falls, Cadott, Marshfield, West Bend, Unity, Black Creek, Schofield, Wausau, Abbotsford, Spencer, Riplinger, Birnamwood and Owen.
