Bublitz, Edna B. (28 JUL 1927 – 8 SEP 2014)

Edna B. Bublitz, age 87, of Owen passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Clark County Health Care Center. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Owen First United Church of Christ. Pastor Teri Hanson will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at 10:00 AM until the time of service Thursday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.

Edna was born on July 28, 1927, in the township of Green Grove, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Franz) Laube. On March 4, 1946, Edna was united in marriage to Virgil Bublitz at the home of her parents in the township of Green Grove.

Edna grew up and lived in the Owen area all her life, farming alongside her husband Virgil. She loved to listen and dance to her polka music. Along with music she loved to travel. When she wasn't traveling or working on the farm, she enjoyed to watch The Young and the Restless on TV. Edna was a member of First United Church of Christ in Owen and volunteered for 30 years. She also worked 12 years as a cook for the Owen-Withee High School.

Edna is survived by husband of almost 67 years, Virgil Bublitz of Owen; her children: Perry of Tigerton, Glen (Becky) of Withee, Kurt (Barb) of Stevens Point, and Tim (Nancy) of Owen; her sister, Berniece (Eddie) Potocnik; her brother, Harold (Fern) Laube; and a sister-in-law, Harriet Laube. She is further survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. They will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Minnie Laube, one brother Dick Laube, grandson-in-law, Ben Armitage, and her brother and sister-in-law Harold and Lorraine House.
