Miss Mabel Constance Skidmore, Curtiss, died January 5 at Clark county hospital, Owen. She was 83 years old.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 8, at the Christian Missionary Alliance church, Curtiss, with the Rev. Arnold Woodring officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill cemetery. Miss Arnold Woodring, soloist, was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Tovio Kallio as she sang “Abide With Me” and “What A Friend We Have in Jesus”. Pallbearers were Fred Pudlas, Vernon Pratt, Floyd Buchannen, Wilford Marcott, Alfred Thompson and Aurel Baxter.

Mabel Skidmore was born February 26, 1883, in Wisconsin. She never married, and lived on the home farm in the town of Holway with her brother and sister until 1943 when she came to Curtiss to make her home with another sister, Miss Minnie Green, and her nephew, Neal Green. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance church and its Ladies’ Aid society.

Survivors are four nephews and two nieces.

Relatives who attended the services from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green, La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Smiley, Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hawks, Withee, and Neal Green, Curtiss, along with many friends from Curtiss and surrounding towns.
