------ Bauer, Mr. & Mrs. Leo (Gold - 14 FEB 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bauer celebrated 50 years of marriage Saturday by renewing their vows at a mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Emil Hodnik officiated. Attending the couple at the ceremony were Mrs. Bauer’s brother, Albert Frueh, original groomsman, and his wife Laura, of Fairchild, Wis. Both Mrs. Bauer and Mrs. Frueh had corsages of red and gold roses. Rev. Molinero of Fairchild was also in attendance.

The former Helen Frueh and Leo Bauer were married February 14, 1917, at Watkins, Minn. The couple has farmed for the last 46 years at route 1, Abbotsford.

A reception was held in the afternoon and evening at Dorchester village hall. About 75 friends and relatives were present. The center of attraction was a large cake with gold candles and table centerpieces of yellow mums and roses.

All of the couple’s children were present. They are Mrs. W. D. (Marie) Lofland, Largo, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Gesualdo and daughter, Ottumwa, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Randall (Lorna) Sterzinger, Dorchester, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bauer, Abbotsford.

Mr. Bauer’s only brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer, came from Logansport, Ind., to be present.

Mrs. Bauer’s four brothers and one sister were all able to attend the celebration. They are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Frueh and son, Joey, of Woodland, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Frueh, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Frueh, Curtiss, Mrs. Mary Ohnemus, Willard, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Frueh.

The couple has 15 grand children and seven great grand children.

Others attending the reception came from Eau Claire, Wausau, Marshfield, and the Abbotsford area.
