Nick Schaffer, 91, of Colby died at his home at 1 a.m. Wednesday, June 14. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, beginning Thursday evening. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, with the Rev. John B. Pinion officiating. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Nick Schaffer was born at Hilbert, Wis., August 12, 1875. Shortly after his marriage at Hilbert in 1906, Mr. and Mrs. Schaffer came to the town of Colby and farmed until 1946 when they retired and moved to the city of Colby.

He served as supervisor in the town of Colby while living there.

Mr. Schaffer is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary and two sons, Rueben Schaffer of Duluth and Lester Schaffer of Colby. There are two grand children and four great grand children.

Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
