Brunett, Leona (5 MAR 1898 – 25 DEC 1967)

Mrs. Leona Brunett, 69, passed away suddenly Monday, Dec. 25th, 1967 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 28th, ten a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Rosary services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27th at eight p.m.

Appollonia (Leona) Veronica Brunett, 69, passed away suddenly Christmas night at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, where she had been taken earlier that day.

She was born on a farm in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) on March 5 1898 to Frank and Clara David. That same year they moved to St. Anna where they resided until 1908, when they moved to Cadott. They moved back to Thorp in 1914.

She was employed at the Thorp Printing Office until the time of her married to Paul Brunett on Nov. 24, 1921.

Five sons and one daughter were born to this union. One son, Donald, preceded her in death in 1936, he being a twin brother of Ronald, also her husband in 1956, her parents, three brothers and two sisters, who died in infancy.

Surviving are her sons, Bernard and Edward at home, Francis of Milwaukee, Ronald of Thorp, and daughter, Mrs. Casper Haas, Jr., eighteen grandchildren, one brother, George David of Stanley.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday at St. Bernard’s Church in Thorp, at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Francis Brockman.

Her body was laid to rest in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Casper Haas Sr., Alex Soeller, Joe Burzynski, Chas. Frinack Sr., Bert Hubbard and John Maier.

Here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Francis Brunett of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. George David of Stanley, Mrs. Arthur McLellan and son Bob of Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Georg Brunner of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hansen, Mr. Alfred Hansen Jr. of Owen, Mrs. Pat Amundson, Mrs. Sharon Berge of Withee, Ruth Brunett and family of Stanley, Mrs. Otto Darge, Mr. and Mrs. James Jamison of Solon Springs.
