Funeral services for Kurt Robert Franke, 68, of Neillsville, who died July 5, were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the united Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Kurt Franke, the son of Robert and Alvina (Schroeder) Franke, was born April 8, 1905, in Germany and was educated there. He came to Clark County at the age of 18 and worked on a farm with his aunt and uncle. Mr. Franke was employed by the Nelson Muffler Corporation from 1945 until 1965 when he retired because of failing health. His marriage to the former Helen McDonough took place July 7, 1945, in Neillsville. The couple lived in Neillsville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two children, John Franke of Black River Falls and Mrs. Laverne (Jean) Johnson of Osseo, MN; and one grandchild. His only other living relative in this area is Erwin Poelzel of Rt. 3 Neillsville.

People from out-of-town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Johnson and daughter of Osseo, Mn, and Mr. and Mrs. John Franke and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hanson of Black River Falls.
