Prior to her marriage, Polly worked in Milwaukee, and later moved to Chicago, where she and her husband lived. While on the farm, Polly was active in her church circle as well as serving as a leader in her children’s 4-H club. Polly then took a job at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen and worked there for the next 11 years. When she retired, she and her husband enjoyed quilting, fishing, gardening, and visiting with their children and grandchildren. In 2001, after the death of her husband, Polly moved to an apartment in Thorp and continued to live a vivacious life. In 2008, Polly moved to Miller Alternative Care in Thorp where she lived until her death.
