Piller, Robert "Bobby" H. (4 JUN 1920 - 28 JAN 2015)

Robert "Bobby" H. Piller, 94, Stetsonville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at his home, surrounded by his family and under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 30 at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Father Frederick Brost officiating. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Robert Piller was born on June 4, 1920 in Medford to the late Otto and Mary (Sickinger) Piller. He attended Medford public schools.

On Dec. 26, 1942, he married Florence "Dolly" E. Schwarting, who preceded him in death on April 18, 2013. They farmed in Medford and he also worked at Hurd in Medford, In 1967, they relocated to Illinois, where they lived for 23 years, and he worked for the State of Illinois until his retirement in 1986. In 1990, they moved back to Stetsonville where they owned and operated Partners Bar and Restaurant, retiring a second time in 1994.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Gary of Medford, Bruce of Fond du Lac, Mark (Debbie) of Ocala, Fla., and Rocky (Debbie) of Crystal Lake, Ill.; two daughters, Betty (Dennis) Elliott of Cortland, Ill., and Lynn (Doug) Retherford of DeKalb, Ill.; a sister, Genevieve Jochimsen of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Dora Piller of Schaumburg, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two children, Donna and Dennis "Butch," and six brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hope Hospice.
