Brenner, George Sr. (24 JUN 1897 – 19 AUG 1969)

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 22 at the United Methodist Church in Loyal for George Brenner, Sr., who passed away at 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

The Rev. Conrad Mickelson officiated at the 2 p.m. service and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. The Roycraft-Myre Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Hugh Darton, Ben Clouse, Ervin Schmidt, Albert Wehrman, Art Wehrman and Alex Mrotek.

Mr. Brenner was born June 24, 1897 at Tower, Minn. June 20, 1930 he was married to Olga Western at Stillwater, Minn.

Mrs. Ruth Zepplin was the organist and Mr. William Chambers sang “In the Garden” and “Abide with Me.”

As a young boy he moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with his parents and received his education, and lived there until his marriage. After his marriage the couple moved to route 1, Loyal, where he farmed until his retirement two years ago, and since then has made his home with his son, George Jr. at Loyal.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Club of Loyal.

Mrs. Brenner died February 20, 1966.

He is survived by a son, George Jr. of Loyal; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Marlene) Ashbeck, Milwaukee; four grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. John Krupa, Cornell; Mrs. Louise Misouri, Milwaukee; Mrs. Clara Rasmussen, Kelso, Wash.; Mrs. Edith Raether, Gilman; Mrs. Florence Ford, Harrisburg, Ill.; and six brothers, Fred, Las Vegas, Nev.; LeRoy, Thorp; Alfred and Lloyd, Holcombe; Ross, South Milwaukee; and Willis, Bloomer.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
