Anderson, Dorothy (24 January 1931 - 15 February 2015)

Dorothy Anderson, 84, of Stanley, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Eau Claire. She was born on January 24, 1931, in Chippewa Falls to the late Lawrence and Ruth (Olson) Peterson. Dorothy grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chi-High in 1949. She worked for Mason Shoe for a time and on April 24, 1952, was united in marriage to Charles Anderson. The couple resided and farmed in the Town of
Worden south of Stanley.

Dorothy enjoyed square dancing, drawing artwork and was a brilliant musician. She loved snowmobiling and being with her family.

She is survived by her sons: Barry Anderson of Stanley and Randall Anderson of Chippewa Falls; one granddaughter, Abbe; and sisters: Lorraine Bjork, Joyce Thornwall and Bonnie Guenther, all of Chippewa Falls, and Nona Rubenzer of Land o’ Lakes, FL.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband (2010); her daughters: Judy and Sandra; brothers: Daniel and David Peterson; and sister, June Boecher.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, with Pastor Ken Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, and Satruday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorials are appreciated to the Stanley Historical Society or American Bible Study.
