Straub, Walter (14 JUL 1910 – 25 DEC 1969)

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer, for Walter Straub, 59, who died Thursday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital. The Rev. Andrew Bofenkamp conducted the services and interment followed in the West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Albert Chamberlain, John Sautner, Paul Ivacic, Donald Fleischman, Walter Fleischman and Alfred Courrnoyer.

Mr. Straub was born July 14, 1910 at DuPage, Ill. And was married Oct. 31, 1942 at Chicago, Ill. To Virginia Bortocek, who preceded him in death in 1966.

The couple lived in Chicago until 1952 when they came to the Spencer area to farm. He was employed at the Weyerhaeuser Co. at Marshfield for the past 12 years, and retired from farming about five years ago. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer.

Survivors include a step-son, Robert Bortocek, Maywood, Ill.; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Fridler, Bartlett, Ill., and a brother, Albert Straub, Roselle, Ill.
