Columbia (20 September 1973)

Mrs. Lawrence McDonell, her sister, Barbara and foster child Avedo Fitzgerald, of Milwaukee, spent from Monday until Thursday at their cottage on Cherry Street. The ladies did some redecorating in the living room of the building. They called on Mr. and Mrs. William Sollberger.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hobart and three children have moved from the Paul Behrens farm to a new location.

Mr. and Mrs. William Fisher of Grays Lake, Il., are vacationing in their cottage on the former Roscoe Bean property in Levis. The Fishers visited Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Bohnhoff Thursday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. George Church of Pine Valley visited Mr. and Mrs. George Mashin Thursday evening. Georgeana and William Schulz visited the Mashins Monday evening. The Mashins visited their son and family, the Bob Mashins of rural Neillsville, last week Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Endel and family of Port Washington were Saturday and Sunday visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Endel. Mrs. Don Ayers and son, James, of Solon Springs, visited the Endels Saturday.

The Ayers family recently moved to Solon Springs from the Town of Hewett. They formerly lived in a residence on Highway 10.

Bernard Korman of Houston, Tx., was a recent visitor of the Endels. Mr. Korman, son of the late John Korman and grandson of Herman Korman, who were early residents of the city of Neillsville, wished to see his father’s birthplace and his grandfather’s shop. The Korman’s owned and operated a wagon and machine shop located on North Hewett Street, just across the O’Neill Creek Bridge, on the east side. Buildings now are under other ownership. Bernard Korman is a salesman and a cousin of Mrs. Endel.
