Johnson, Eugene W. (11 FEB 1929 – 20 OCT 1965)

Eugene W. Johnson, 36, 602 Jackson St., died Wednesday night in KSB Hospital, Dixon, after a long illness.

Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 11, 1929 in Beloit, Wis., the son of Harold E. and Myrtle (Hodd) Johnson.

He was married Nov. 27, 1949, in Mount Morris, to Patricia Wagner.

He had been associated with his father in the Oregon bakery. A former resident of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), he attended high school here for three years and was graduated from the Colby school system in 1947. While a student here he was active in sports and FFA and served as the junior prom king in 1946.

He and his family moved to Oregon, Ill. 18 years ago. He was a member of the Oregon Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Charlene and Rebecca; five sons, James, Terry, Michael, David and Raymond, all at home.; his parents, two brothers, Orville, Roscoe and Robert R., Madison, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. John (June) Roos, DeKalb, and Joyce, a student at Drake University, Des Moines, Ia.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Oregon Methodist Church, Rev. Hilliard Howard, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Morris.

A memorial fund is being established.
