Willard (15 November 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. John Stremikis of Madison left last week for San Paula, Brazil, where he expects to be employed.
Mr. and Mrs. John Govek of Medford, Miss Carol Govek of Eau Claire, and William Govek of Bloomington, Mn, were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Govek.
Rev. Nick Bestcha of Wausau spent several days last week in Willard.
Mrs. Kenneth Horn, Sr., accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Vandy Suda, were in Waukegan, Il., to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Musich.
The Willard social club will hold its monthly meeting November 19 at the home of Mrs. William Bayuk.
Mr. and Mrs. John Scharenbrock were in Eau Claire last Sunday to visit Mrs. Margaret Lindner at the Lutheran Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Jordon visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. John Scharenbrock.
Rev. Augustine Sveta of Rochester, Mn, visited in the Willard area last week.
Mr and Mrs. John Bayuk visited recently in Joliet, Il., with relatives, returning Saturday.
John Matkovich of Seattle, Wa., has been visiting his mother, Mrs. Theresa Matkovich, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matkovich. He returned home Monday.
Airman and Mrs. John Ramminger and family of Chanute Field, Il., are visiting for several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Craig and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Craig and Sarah Thursday attended the 4-H leader’s banquet in Loyal. Sarah gave a report on a trip she took last summer to Washington ,D.C.
Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Krainz also were present. Their son, Larry, was awarded the highest award of the 4-H club, the Key Award.
Also present from Willard were: Mrs. William Bayuk and daughter, Betty, Mrs. Ron Volovsek, Donna Volovsek, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Rakovec. Mrs. Thurman Craig received a 15-year pin and a certificate in recognition of her service as a 4-H club leader. Cyril Rakovec received an award for 10 years of leadership.
The Willard 4-H club received an honor award.
Mr. and Mrs. John Lesar and Roberta went to Milwaukee last Saturday to visit Mr and Mrs. Donald Lesar and family.
This week it has been cooler than last week, with the thermometer going as low as 12 degrees above zero.
