Oehler, Harold LeRoy (5 MAY 1926 - 25 JUN 2015)

Harold LeRoy Oehler, 89, passed away June 25, 2015. He was born May 5, 1926, to Dewey and Sophie (Jacobs) Oehler. He married Margaret Strunk on May 28, 1946.

Harold proudly served his country in the United State Navy as an Electrician’s Mate on the USS Piedmont in WWII from 1943 – 1946.

Harold and Margaret farmed in the Town of Holton for 46 years. Harold served on many cooperative boards, cemetery board and held several church offices.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, Doug (Janice) Oehler, Cheri (Dave) Baker, Kevin (Mary) Oehler, Kelley (Katie) Oehler, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Jim and Gary (Paula) and 3 sisters, Marcella (Bob) Bredlau, Leora (Jim) Reynolds and Nelrose Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd and his parents Dewey and Sophie.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday June 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Medford. Pastor Kim Swenson will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment at the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors will be provided by the Colby VFW post #2227. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to a memorial fund for Harold established at Bethany Baptist church.

The family would like to thank Lakeview Heights Legacy for the loving care given to Harold and his family over the years.
