Johnson, Dale E. “Beaver” (30 July 1952 - 2 July 2015)

Dale E. “Beaver” Johnson, 62, of Stanley, died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. He was born on July 30, 1952, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls to Marlin and Phyllis (Henke) Johnson. Beaver grew up in the Town of Worden and graduated from Stanley-Boyd in 1970. He then went on to receive a degree in accounting from Eau Claire Technical College. Beaver operated Johnson Accounting since. On April 22, 1978, he married Charlene Wagner in Stanley.

His legacy will be left in the numerous groups he was involved with. Beaver held offices and was always an active member of the clubs and organizations he represented. He also was active in local politics and was a former Stanley Alderman and Mayor, a county board member, and was on the Conservation Congress. Beaver also belonged to the Stanley Commercial Club, the CVORA, the Stanley Snow Chargers and the Stanley Rod and Gun Club. He volunteered countless hours towards the causes and fundraisers they had. Beaver also was a big Stanley-Boyd athletics fan, missing very few football and basketball games over the years, all al9ong also being a fan of the Packers, Badgers and Brewers.

Beaver also was an avid outdoorsman. He most enjoyed sharing his love of outdoors with his grandchildren. Taking them hunting and fishing made him beam with pride. While being a very busy person, he always took time out to attend their events and support them. In his early years, he enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Lastly, he believed there was only one kind of tractor: a John Deere.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Johnson; his daughters: Kellie Johnson of Cadott, Carrie (Earl) Sayles of Stanley, and Amy (Ted O’Donnell) Cross of Madison; six grandchildren: Austin, Brittany, and Thomas Anderson, and Dale, Robert, and Allison Sayles; his mother, Phyllis Johnson of Stanley; and three brothers: Dean Johnson of Eau Claire, Dennis (Jane) Johnson of Stanley, and Glen (Cindy) Johnson of Altoona.

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Marlin Johnson; a nephew, Jared Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Roger Wagner.

A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. Deacon Ned Willkom officiated. Visitation was from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Plombon Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass, at the funeral home.
