Phaneuf, Mr./Mrs. Gordon (48th – 2 JUL 1968)

All the children of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Phaneuf of Abbotsford, relatives, neighbors and friends from the area joined them Sunday for their 48th wedding anniversary. The couple was honored with an open house in the afternoon.

The former Lila Parge and Gordon Phaneuf were married at Abbotsford July 2, 1920.

Mr. Phaneuf was employed an engine watchman for the Soo Line. They lived in Abbotsford and for a time in Milwaukee, but due to ill helath, Mr. Phaneuf had to retire in 1956.

Their children and grandchildren who were here Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Hayward (Avis) Daane, and Jean of Sheboygan Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Phaneuf, Brant, Michelle, Quinn, Marshall and Cheryl of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Marlyn Phaneuf, Greg, Mike, Cathy, Susan and Mary Beth, Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs. Lester (Phillis) Reiter, Dean, Kerry, Connie, Brian and Terry of Stetsonville, and Lynn (Larry) Phaneuf from Abbotsford.

Three grandsons were unable to be present, Mark Daane of Sheboygan Falls, Jan Daane, who is in the naval reserves at Leeville, Tex., and Scott Daane, who is in the Coast Guard in Turkey.

Mr. Phaneuf has one sister, Mrs. Hazel Wilhelmi of Abbotsford, who attended, and Mrs. Phaneuf has one brother, Frank Parge of El Monte, Calif., who was not present for the observance.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Pries of Whittlesey, longtime friend of the couple, came for the occasion.
