Hoernke, Gloria Jean (26 OCT 1968)

Miss Gloria Jean Hoernke and Mark Anthony Carpenter were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 26, 1968, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, with the Rev. john B. Pinion officiating.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hoernke, route 2, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carpenter, also of Colby.

The bride wore a floor length gown with long tapered sleeves and a portrait neckline complemented the fitted bodice of Chantilly. The traditional bouffant skirt of silk bombazine featured a redingote front accented by lace highlighted by a court train. Her bouffant veil of sheer bridal illusion was secured to a forward cluster of pearls edged with lace petals. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of red and white roses.

For her maid of honor she chose Miss Mary Lou Weber of Colby. Other attendants were Miss Lois Wilcott, Auburndale, Mrs. Donald Schnabel, Colby, and the miniature bride was Miss Christine Riese.

The attendants wore floor length dresses of sata peau in brilliant blue, fashioned with short sleeves and scoop necklines. A band of Venice lace encircle the waistlines of the empire bodice. Harmonizing veils were secured to a petal cloche. They carried bouquets of white and yellow carnations.

Groomsmen were James Becker of Marshfield, Donald Schnabel, Colby, and ushers were Joseph Kilty and Dale Hoernke. The miniature groom was Ronald Hoernke.

Mrs. Alois Gabriel played the organ and Mrs. Fred Caskey and St. Mary's Children's choir sang.

The wedding day festivities included a reception, dinner and dance held at the Trianon Ballroom, Athens.

The couple will be residing in Colby. The groom is a 1967 graduate of Colby High School and works at the Colby Cheese Factory, and the bride is a 1968 graduate of Colby High School and works as a key punch operator at Figi's Incorporated in Marshfield.
