Gus Anderson opened a bed of soft brown mica while digging a well on his place at Neillsville.

Margraf & Steinwand have had a well dug on their hotel premises. It is eighteen feet deep and contains good, clear water.

The beer warehouse, of Wm. Ihne has received a find coat of paint and has been nicely lettered. Mr. Ihne evidently likes to see things look neat.

See advertisement of Unity Drug Store, W. P. Miller, proprietor, on the opposite page. Willis is a thorough druggist, and will give satisfaction to all who patronize him.

School will commence, in the upper department, on Monday, Sept. 1, and in the primary department one week later. The case of this is that Miss White, whom the Board has reengaged, will be unable to reach this place until that date. The upper department will be under the supervision of Prof. J. F. Sims, who gave excellent satisfaction last year.

Margraf & Steinwand will open their new hotel to the public Monday next. It is their intention to keep a quiet orderly house, with plenty to eat on the table such as it is and pretty good what there is of it.

Harrison Drake and his lady-love took a pleasure trip to Greenwood and Loyal Friday.
