Reichertz, Henrietta Ruth (Hawks) (29 FEB 1924 - 20 NOV 2014)

Henrietta Ruth (Hawks) Reichertz, 90, of Cedarburg, WI went to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from Cedar Springs Nursing Home in Ozaukee County.

She was born on February 29, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Ralph and Ruth Violet (Kerns) Wendt.

As a young girl of six years, Henrietta moved to Withee, WI with her mother and step-father, Donald Hawks. She grew up on the family farm, walking or skiing 1.5 miles to Willowdale School, a one room country school. She then received her education at Withee, WI, graduating in 1942. She worked on her LPN in Eau Claire, WI.

Henrietta moved to the Milwaukee area where she married Jacob J. Reichertz in the summer of 1947. Later in life she lived at several locations in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin and ended up at Fischer Terrace in Cedarburg where she felt that they were like one big family-they took care of one another.

Henrietta worked in many secretarial positions over the years. She worked at Allis Chalmers while they were doing the Manhattan Project. Henrietta enjoyed many handcrafts like sewing, knitting, crocheting and finished many beautiful needlework projects. She worked with pottery, taught dancing and there was a demand for the cakes that she made. She refinished cars, which she said was no harder than spreading icing on a cake. She would attempt anything and loved to travel. Henrietta loved attending the Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, WI. she had a small group of friends there that loved her to pieces. She had many pets during her life.

Henrietta was predeceased by her parents, husband, Jacob J. Reichertz; her beloved daughter, Pamela Marie Reichertz and fiancé, Robert Egerer. Henrietta is survived by her sisters, Doree Hawks (Roger) Meier of Menomonee Falls, WI and Janice Hawks (John) Doroghazi of Weston, OH; nieces, Loree (Bill) Meier and Lynn Doroghazi (Billy) Richardson and nephews, Scott (Kathleen) Meier and Jason (Melissa) Meier. Very special to her were Penny Egerer (Robert) Brown, Doug Egerer and Robert Egerer.

Henrietta was a strong lady who during her life overcame many obstacles with grace and dignity. She fought a long valiant battle at the end of her life. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
