Lenz, Lenore Mae (28 DEC 1968)

The holiday marriage of Miss Lenore Lenz, Colby, and Larry Raymond Johnson, Deer Park, took place Saturday, Dec. 28, 1968, in a 3 p.m. ceremony performed at the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford before the Rev. Charles E. Glidden.

Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lenz of rural Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson of Deer Park.

The organist during the ceremony was Mrs. Robert Frederick. Raymond Johnson, father of the groom, sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” and Miss Ann Lenz, a sister of the bride, sang “Take Thou Our Minds, Dear Lord.”

Miss Lenz was also the maid of honor for her sister. The other bridal attendants were Miss Linda Johnson of Deer Park and Miss Carol Lenz, Colby, another sister of the bride.

The best man was Gary Anderson of La Crosse, and the other attendants were Michael Mueller of Madison and Jerold Johnson of Deer Park. Performing the ushering duties were Terry Kolpack of Verona and Leonard Weiss of Oak Creek.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length white gown with full chapel length train dress, styled of ruffled valance over taffeta. The molded bodice was fashioned with a mandarin collar, and was trimmed with satin buttons. Her bouffant veil of imported silk illusion was secured to a contour shaped pillbox of re-embroidered Alencon lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations, stephanotis and ivy.

The bridesmaids each wore floor length forest green velvet jumpers over white Chantilly lace blouses, each individually fashioned with a ruffled collar and long full sleeves. Their headpieces were bows of velvet cording. They held colonial bouquets of red roses, stephanotis and white carnations.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner were held at the Colby Hotel.

The bride is a senior at the University at Madison. Mr. Johnson will graduate from the University of Wisconsin in January with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and agricultural engineering, beginning next semester.

The young couple will be making their home at 2325 Badger Parkway, Apt. 21, in Madison.
