Czarnezki, Milan G. (17 MAR 1926 - 10 JAN 2016)

Milan G. Czarnezki, 89, of 604 Gibson, Medford, passed away on Sunday, January 10 at Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford where he had resided for the past 3 months most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 15 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, with Fr. Phil Juza and Deacon Joe Stefancin, officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford.

Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford from 9:45 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, January 15.

Milan was born on March 17, 1926 at the Township of Hammel, to John and Emma (Federspiel) Czarnezki, Jr.

He attended Cleveland Elementary School, Town of Hammel and was a 1944 graduate of Medford High School.

On October 2, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville, he married Lila Mae Retterath, and she survives

After his education, he worked in the grain fields in Montana for a period of time & farmed in the Town of Hammel for 7 years. He then worked for the USDA as a soil conservation technician from 1957-1986 when he retired. He also did carpenter work for several years. In retirement, he enjoyed his time working in the woods, maintained a Christmas tree plantation, enjoyed cooking maple syrup, fishing and bow/gun hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & great grandchildren who brought him much happiness.

Milan was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford and the Catholic Knights of Columbus (Treasurer); He served on the Taylor Credit Union board for 32 years. He also served on the boards of Hope Hospice, Centennial Apartments (Past President), original member of the Town & Country Dairy Breakfast committee, and member of the Association of Retired Conservationists.

He is survived by his wife, Lila M. Czarnezki of Medford; children Jim (Cas) Czarnezki of Hendersonville, NC, Gary Czarnezki of Medford, John (Nancy) Czarnezki of Rib Lake, Cheryl (John) Bach of Medford, Joanne (Perry) Wolf of Athens; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Wesle of Medford, Jack (Arlene) Czarnezki of Milwaukee & sister–in-law, Bernice Czarnezki of Milwaukee.

He is predeceased by his parents, John and Emma (Federspiel) Czarnezki, Jr.; great grandchildren; Tori Jean Czarnezki, Ethan Ryan Czarnezki, Aaron John Czarnezki; siblings, Gerald, Vernon & Sister Elaine Czarnezki, Marie Strebig.
